I'm wondering what kinds of memory cards people are using with these cameras? SD or CF or both? What brands/series. I find sandisk CF Ultra II's are pretty good, and also the SD Video cards are very fast.

Matt *20D YAY! My first *real* digital camera. 5DIII 1Dx and 1Dx and 1DIV And all the heavy glass...Plus a flash or seven... :)

Have a 1ds2 coming in tomorrow from a fellow POTN member. 7 days shipping via fedex ground. :(

I hardly touched my 5d. Kept wanting to postpone all shoots until the 1d came in. Lol

$2275 with 20k clicks, one battery, charger, and box. Still trying to explain to my girlfriend why I chose this over the 5d2 I have been dreaming of for a year! I said, when you see it and hold it you will understand!

8GB Sandisk Extreme III SD as primary, 4GB Sandisk Extreme III CF as secondary (not direct backup, just to switch over if I run out of space on the primary without time to change it).

I've got two sets of those. I use SD as my primary now (used to use the CF) but I got an internal expresscard SD reader for my MBP, so that makes downloading images more convenient without needing another accessory to lug around with me. The write speed to SD cards is a bit faster too, ~1MB/sec

Just using a couple of 8Gb and a 16Gb CF primarily. I do put an SD in the slot in case I am shooting something critical, and I need the instant backup.

I have Sandisk and Lexar CF cards between 1GB up to 12GB and all are working fine on all my DSLRs, and also i have 3 brands of SD [Sandisk, Kingston, Toshiba] between 1GB and 8GB and again all working fine on 1-series mkII and mkIII.

I alternate generally between a 16GB and 4GB CF card as the main, and I always have a 2GB SD card in the second slot for emergency storage should I run out of CF space during a shoot (or I don't have time to switch cards), or for those (MANY) times I'm shooting pictures of my daughter, and I've left the main card upstairs in the computer...I still have a card in the camera at all times. I'm probably going to switch out my 2GB SD card for an 8 GB SD card soon, given the cheapness of memory. I also may pick up a few more SD cards, since the 1DsII writes to SD faster than it does to CF.

What a difference 4 years makes! That's my Magpul single point quick release sling I rigged up to attach to the tripod shoe.

Thanks for the great comments!

Baton Rouge has one of the highest murder rates in the country. I wouldn't recommend going to that location without that rifle and a few extra mags!
