And here's another BF. Hope ya'll aren't too bored of them. Basically, one of the best tests I've done, with the 1Ds2.

It's '3' buttons/wheels instead of 4. The main dial on the back of the body controls horizontal focus points, while the Aperture Dial and the 'x' (to the left of the FE lock/- zoom buttons) control the vertical AF point selection. Easier on my right thumb. I wouldn't either Tareq. Fortunately, I have enough subjects to shoot with what I have. Now, playing with a new body will be a challenge, that's all. ![]() What is the challenge with new body? what i can say then with 3 different systems [P&S, DSLR, MF]? Galleries:

inthedeck Cream of the Crop More info | Sep 05, 2009 23:44 | #2253 Tareq, I've never owned a 1-series camera. Basically, started from film, moved to a 20D, to a 5D, and now, as 1Ds2. It's a progression, to learn how a camera works. After three years of owning the 5D, it became second nature, due to the simple mechanics of the camera. The 1Ds2 has so many more functions, buttons, menu options, AF points, etc. A slight learning curve, but, still enough to warrant some more learning. MCSquared Photography

Limit yourself to one body at a time for maybe a month, or two, you'll understand what I mean. ![]() I was using Nikon P&S for almost 5 months before i buy 350D which i use it for almost 6 months before i buy 30D for also about 3-4 months before i upgrade to 1D MarkII N, then after 5 months i bought 5D and 1DsII at the same time in one order, then after about 14 months i bought 1D markIII, then maybe after 8 months the last DSLR i have 1DsIII, then around 6 months later of 1DsIII i bought my Hassy, and when i buy a new body along of those i have i was using it for more than 1 month even i use another camera for backup, and i never have difficulties to use all of them in less than 2 days first time with the first 4 cameras. Anyone have any ideas? What version of EOS Utility should work with this thing? Another issue is I have windows 7, so, not sure if that's causing the issues? I plugged it in via USB and Firewire, and the camera is recognized, just can't seem to get to the menus. ![]() FWIW, and for whatever stupid reason, Canon's EOS Utility does NOT support the custom curve function of the 1DsII. For this very reason, I still use the older EVU (EOS Viewer Utility) that came on the CD. It's asinine that EU (which replaced EVU) does not support all the functions on the 1DsII, but Canon doesn't mention it anywhere, and doesn't provide a download link for EVU on their sites.

M3...yeah, it's a slight pain, especially when OS's and technology in general are moving foward at such the fast pace. I used the EOS Utility included with my wifes' 5D bundle, and the viewer works fine. Weird how Canon left out P-Fn's 11-13, of course, I have no idea what they are since they don't exist. ![]() I'm just glad I was able to rebuild an old laptop to be able to connect to the camera. I think once the P-Fn's are set, there's really no need to go back and change them so I won't be wasting tons of energy on the laptop. It does what I need it to, for those off chances that I'll want to change the P-Fn's. ZZ -- C-Fn 11 should really have one more option, but, it doesn't. I have mine set at '2' for now, since it allows use of the main wheel for horizontal focus point selection, and then vertical is controlled by the 'x' and aperture wheel. Aperture is still set by the aperture wheel, as well, but, shutter speed is now controlled by the zoom+ and aperture wheel. Hehe...it sounds more tedious than it is, really. ![]() Yeah, Jeff...I think somewhere along the line I screwed it up in post, but, I felt it was worthy enough, too. ![]() in the manual.....
