It is the ashtray I would've wanted for most of my college years :D

Yeah, those little LED lights can do some pretty psychedelic things to an infinity screen. ;)

Cheers!

I really did mean it was interesting. Makes a person think about what's 'around' the middle piece. So, what is it? Show the whole thing...

You mean what's around the ashtray? It's just basically the light reflections created by the LED light bending and refracting through the thick glass of the ash tray. The only thing that was cropped out was the light source and the outer fringe edge of my infinity backdrop. And to give the light a nice symmetrical look, I cloned the left side of the image, flipped it 180 and moved it over to the right.

Cheers!

Yeah, I like to experiment with light and odd post processing effects just for the fun of it. It's a good clean hobby at least. ;)

Cheers!

Yeah. Another form of creativity never hurt, and if it's cool, that much better.

That's why I like nature...just don't have enough light in the day except on 'free' weekends these days. Hard to come by but I make the time when possible. I'll work on a butterfly, one of these days.

Well, I'm officially on borrowed time. :) This is actuation # 200,000 on my 1Ds II. Shutter appears to still be perfect. (that stuff on the bottom is her coloring book way out of focus, not a shutter bounce.) Let's hope for another 200,000.

WTG Jordan on hitting 200K! ;)

Mine's still a pup at around 47K, I guess but I'm looking forward to catching up to you!

Anyway, just a dusk shot from earlier today with the 100L...

Cool shot. How do you find the barrell distortion to be, with the lens? Tolerable, or not really existant? Just curious.

The barrel distortion's essentially non-existent!

It's really a fun lens over all and I'm really digging the contrast and colors this lens pulls off. ;)

My only misgiving with it is that its so sharp, I makes me wonder what it would do with the 1DsMkIV if it ever comes out! :D

Cheers!

There is no distortion with this lens. -0.073%. There's not a human eye in existence that can discern that in any photo.

The 100L is perhaps the finest all-around lens I've owned, and I've had the entire Trinity, so we're not talking junk lenses. It's exceptional.

Jordan, I've read your praise about the 100L. I'm sure it'd be an awesome lens to use in the rain, since it's sealed. That's a huge thing going for it. ;)
