You will need a plug adapter though to change the blade plugs into round plugs. That's a 2 dollar item widely available though. Also, I don't have direct experience with this working in 220/240 volt systems but I do with the charger that came with my 5D camera and that one worked without issues so, I suspect a 1D series product would follow suit. Shot at ISo3200, 17mm, f/4, 0.4sec, handheld. It was basically pitch black, and although it won't win any awards, I like the feel of the photo. Oh yeah, and it was dumping rain, and everyone thought I was ludicrous to have my camera out, except for one guy who knew that 1-series can handle pretty much anything.
