The charger is rated to auto switch between 110/240, 50/60hz systems. You will need a plug adapter though to change the blade plugs into round plugs. That's a 2 dollar item widely available though.

Also, I don't have direct experience with this working in 220/240 volt systems but I do with the charger that came with my 5D camera and that one worked without issues so, I suspect a 1D series product would follow suit.

Joined Canon digital forum only a while ago to reed lens reviews also other interesting themes for me. Found this thread and read it through, and gues what - you inspired me.

I used a 400D a while, then wanted to tray a FF an bought a 5D classic. Started photographing weddings and understand that I need something better, but what - 5D mark II or 1Ds mark II? I chouse used 1Ds mark II. Yesterday it arrived. I was so amazed when I unpacked the box - camara looked like never used before (the shutter resource was only 5200).Built like a tank and that shutter sound - awasome. Image quality is superb even at ISO 1600 compared to my old 5D. Only it`s hard to get used to button layout, bu that`s only a question of time. I will never regret this buy.

No need to leern through camara settings and invet in some L fixes

^^Congrats and welcome to the club. Once you get used to the buttons, it's not so difficult, but it does take a few days.

^^Good stuff, Jeff. Though, I'm not sure I'm completely fond of it. Little bit too much noise in the bottle, for my liking. Though, I'm sure it deserves a redo...as a product shot with a glass with a few ice cubes, etc...hehe.

Quick documentary shot from a field trip this evening. Shot at ISo3200, 17mm, f/4, 0.4sec, handheld. It was basically pitch black, and although it won't win any awards, I like the feel of the photo. Oh yeah, and it was dumping rain, and everyone thought I was ludicrous to have my camera out, except for one guy who knew that 1-series can handle pretty much anything.

So, the 1ds is pretty much gone. If it sells awesome, I'm upgrading to a 1ds2. If not i'll just feed the 1ds classic some L glass.
