1Ds2
16-35 2.8L (all wide landscapes)
50L (mid range "creative" glass)
70-200 2.8L IS (specifically going to be used for Animal Kingdom)

This is a good travel kit Butchie. My travel bag holds similar too

1ds II
17-40 or sometimes the 24-70
50 f1.4
70-200 2.8 IS

The 70-200 + 1.4 is a great lens for Florida beach "candid" I mean ...landscape.

Have fun.

1ds II owners please keep posting pictures. I have really been tempted to purchase a 5d classic lately and the only way I can Keep my mind on track and eventually get this 1ds Mk II is buy viewing these beautiful pictures on this thread. Please keep posting to prevent me from a impulse Buy of a 5d Classic!!! I'm sure I would love a 5d Classic but a 1ds Mark II would be like icing on a cake!

Nice one Manish! ;)

Interesting black framing...can you explain the rationale behind those huge top and bottom black borders?

Cheers!

Thanks Jeff. The black bars are there in case the print is printed portrait to fit a 9x12 sheet. That's all. ;)

Well, I decided to sell off a couple of my lenses this week and chose the ones that were getting the least amount of use. So I am happy to report the my 70-200 f/2.8 IS, EF2xII extender and 35L are now all sold! :D

Now I have the dilemma of trying to figure out what to get with the money?

Maybe the new 17 or 24mm tilt shift???? Or maybe something else?

Any suggestions?

Cheers!

I know this question has been asked before but image wise how does the 1ds II compare to a 5d Classic or 5D Mark II. So far from my observation all the 5d image characteristics are it has a natural dark shadows, vibrant color depth which brings in a lot of Punch 3d characteristics with the 5d Mark II being similar only a little brighter more smoother refined polished look . I think the 1ds II fits somewhere in the middle... same or a little more detail as the 5d's maybe with a little less punch? Also with the upcoming 1ds IV to be released will this mean a automatic price drop in 1ds Mark II? If so by how much?

Congrats! The 1.8 is a speedy lens from what I've heard of it. I have the 85L f/1.2 and absolutely love what it does for portraits! The one you've selected is also pretty good for that but even better for shooting objects in motion as the focusing is much quicker due to the smaller, lighter glass.

Cheers!
