It was such a gloomy day (at that moment) I feel the filmy version works better. But I LOVE the clarity this lens gives..

The second one has more character to it for sure! Might be interesting as a b&W too!

Cheers!

One more of my SG with the 24L...

Cheers!

I love SG's and yours is nothing short of gorgeous. I might get back into playing soon. I had one of the Epiphone SG wannabe's in highschool. Do you mind sharing how you got the floating effect?

I do like the second version, but the coloured vignette is a BAD idea!

Thanks! ;)

The floating effect in that shot was achieved by painstakingly cutting out the guitar from the original shot, which I usually do at around 2400% magnefication to ensure a clean cut. Then, create a new backdrop layer with a couple of blended gradients and filters and then making a second copy layer of the guitar, placing it underneath the first guitar, shifting its position, blurring it and finally darkening it down a bit more to resemble the look of a shadow and then blending it into the base layer and blurring that a bit as well to make it gel together.

Piece of cake!

Cheers!

Jef, thanks! I'll see what it looks like as a BW conversion. (How do you do your conversions? I've always been confused on how to, I don't like just "desaturating" it, I like playing with the gradients.)

Oh, and I like those pics! Loving the natural lens flare! What did you use for these shots? Any filters used (GND..ND?) I love the colors.

Trainboy, thanks. The vignette is natural but my PP sort of enhanced it.

Best Regards,
-Ericson.

Thanks! No filters on those! I don't have any to fit that lens. I just caught some nice light by waiting for it.

About b&w, I just use the standard one in CS4 which lets you play with the color channels and then apply a tinting filter after that sometimes.

And to airbutchie,

Nice shooting in Navada there! :)

Cheers!

Hello everyone! I just purchased my 1Ds II last night. It should be here on Thursday and I can't wait to start shooting with it. I purchased a 1D IIN as a back up to my 5D about a week ago and loved it so much I had to sell the 5D and get this beauty!
