Nice shooting everyone!

Just a quickie shot of some fall colors now starting to become visible!
Shot with 100L macro through my window...
Cheers!
Nice to see colors are just starting somewhere, mine are almost finished.

I never use manual focus and I often work in bad lighting (weddings). Is there a focusing screen that will benefit me or not? Thanks! Canon 1D Mark IV | Canon 50mm f/1.8 STM

Set the CF 00 to 0 when using them or else the metering will be off since the screens are so bright. The bright screens are Ec-N and Ec-R. The Ec-N is like the standard Ec-CIII screen except that it is brighter; Ec-R is like Ec-CII except that it is brighter (they just have the the center spot marked while the III/N has the center-weighted average area marked as well). flickr

No, the brighter screens are WORSE for seeing focus but you said you use AF only for dark wedding scenes so there, the bright screen could be helpful. flickr

The darker Ec-S superprecision matte is best for manual focus with f/2.8 and faster lenses and the Ec-A microprism and Ec-B split prism are helpful for faster manual focusing, especially with slower lenses. I guess I could use manual focus for certain wedding scenes if it was clear what I was focusing on. might help me to get the shot i was sometimes instead of waiting for af to be achieved. Are the precision matte screens also nice for seeing focus with af? Canon 1D Mark IV | Canon 50mm f/1.8 STM

Are the precision matte screens also nice for seeing focus with af? Yes, the Ec-S screen is the best one for seeing critical focus with the optical viewfinder, either to focus it yourself manually or to check the results of autofocus. It does darken the viewfinder however so it is best used with f/2.8 and faster though honestly I use it all the time in my Mark II N even with slow f/5.6 lenses at times and outdoors it is quite usable like that. Indoors with an f/4 lens the Ec-S is a bit dark though. flickr
