Oct 08, 2011 13:18 | #8872 Hi, Need some advice please. I had both CF & SD slots with cards and the camera has written my photos to the SD card (I must have done something when playing with the menu of the camera but I can work that out) I can see the photos when the SD card is in camera but when I put the card to computer it keeps saying do I want to format the card, when I tried connecting camera with FW the camera is seen but when I open there is nothing showing (no photos) as I say I no they are there because I can view them on camera.Any advice as how I can get photos off the card please. Many Thanks,

I don't even have a firewire port on my computer. There are a number of usb based CF card reader devices on the market from Sandisk and others. I use one of those on my computer and simply take the card out of the camera, plug it into the drive and transfer the files onto my hard drive. Doing this also saves a bit of battery time for shooting on the camera rather then spending it transferring files.
