Oh boy oh boy oh boy, have had my 1Ds2 for a month now and its absolutely fantastic! Leaving aside video, sensor dirt removal ( rocket blower works well), screen ( it's fine for exposure checking), this body seems to me to be far superior to my now sold 7D, and as for the results, well I have to say ( and this is a first) that I am 100% satisfied, if not amazed at the quality and consistency of the results. I can't imagine ever wanting ( or needing) anything better. Unhesitatingly recommended!

Outstanding shots as usual guys.

Jeff, I hope you're getting paid for those.

Butch, perfect example of leading us into the shot.

Yesterday I wanted to see how cold it was in RMNP......

Nice shooting Butch and Jon!

And thanks for the feedback on the shot.

About the getting paid question; nope. Most of these are just for fun and others are for ads where the items are sold and if they sell, then I get paid.

Cheers!

Nice shot Jon. My wife and I were up in Red Feather Lakes a few weeks ago and I tried some night shots. Mine weren't terrible but none turned out as well as yours. How did you get the stars focused so well? EXIF? Thanks.

A couple reedits of some climbing shots from earlier this year and 2010. Not ideal lighting for both so they're a bit "punchy".

Hi everyone I'm new to this post as I'm thinking of buying a 1ds ii from eBay this week, I was reading about how people using 64 bit computers are having trouble connecting to their computers, what I need to know is is this a windows problem or will I have trouble with my iMac running lion? Hope someone can help.

The reason for 64-bit computer is the driver that comes with the 1Ds II is not compatible with it, especially if you need to use the firewire connection to change the owner names, save Personal Function and such.

But if you download and upgrade to the latest version from Canon site, most of other stuffs will work, but not sure of the EOS Utility.

Thanks Doug. Red Feathers is a great place. When I shot this I took several exposures, but I only used two because that's all that was necessary. The shot is an exposure blend of two images 4 & 30 seconds, 16mm, f/2.8, ISO 1000. With a UWA lens there's a large DOF, even at f/2.8. It was pretty dark out so I set the focus to infinity by using the dial indicator and shot.
