ALas - I picked it up for $2200 with a spare battery and all the books,cd's,etc. - he was asking $2400 but was willing to go lower when asked...so I asked. I'm sure there's better deals out there - but I'm happy.

I bought mine for $2100 with everything you described so you're in the ball park. The pro I bought mine from said KEH offered him $1200 for it. He had upgraded to a 1DsMkIII.

I've shot about 800 pictures with mine over the last few weeks so I'm still learning where all the buttons are but I'm very glad I made the switch from the 20D. My lens list consists of a 24-70L, a 50mm F1.4 and a 100mm Macro so I'll be looking for a 70-200L sometime after my bank account recovers. Its so nice to have a real wide angle again...

It sure can fill up a 4 GB card in a hurry - plus I'm going to have to stop on the way home today and buy some more RAM for my computer.

Here's mine. I absolutely love this camera...I paid about $1700 for the camera ($1775 total, but it came with a card reader and a 4GB Extreme III flash card):

Although I absolutely love my 1Ds II, I would kill for a bigger LCD screen and from what I've been told is the high ISO noise is so well controlled ISO 3200 on the 5D II is very close to ISO 800 on the 1Ds II.
I will be buying a 5D II as soon as they come back to the stores, and then no one will hear from me again because my wife will be stabbing my eyes out.

A couple of weeks ago, I was at the Monte Vista refuge photographing sandhill cranes and geese. I was standing next to a county road photographing cranes as they flew over with my newly acquired 1Ds2 on my EF500mm when this magpie decided to put on a little aerial show about 100-125 yds out in front of me. I thought that it would be a good time to test the camera's AF ability on a rather small moving target. This is the result. I am impressed.

I still prefer my 1Ds2 but do admit that the high ISO of the 5D2 is very impressive from my recent tests. Up until now my idea of high ISO was staying under 1000 unless in a pinch. Because I don't shoot high ISO I don't have any software to fix or blend the noise but in my mind I think I could use ISO 6400 sometimes for daily use here & there without any normal person ever detecting that things were less than normal. On the other hand I do not see a noticable difference in IQ between the 2 bodies. My samples are here, and they should be downloadable for proper inspection.

I tend to not worry about ISO unless I go to 3200. 1600 produces great results for me generally (as long as I don't underexpose a lot).

Got my first "general purpose zoom" this week. Been using 35/50/85 primes, 15-30 and 50-500. Now I have the 24-105L, and wow, it's a nice lens! It looks and feels at home on the big bastard 1ds2 body, and the autofocus is crazy fast for a zoom. Looking forward to spending some time with it, and to having a weather sealed setup.

My new minty ($2.2K, w/10.5K actuation's) 1DsII came in late last week. Got a chance to "play" with it a little over the weekend to test it. I can tell you that it would have been very difficult, if not near impossible, to get these shots with my 20D.

The following were all shot in AI Servo, "ring of fire" focus mode, saved as Medium JPEG (M2, or approx 6Mp) with a custom curve, Sharpness at 3, Contrast at 0 (not needed because of the custom curve), high sat sRGB, no Photochopping (except for cropping!):

Strange--looked fine on my computer. I just changed the access level on the photos. Do they show up now?
