Scratch or Smear? [attached pic]

Hello POTN,

Not sure if anyone can determine it from just looking at the attached photo, but does the line appear to be a smudge (left over cleaning solution) or a scratch?

Try blowing it off, it could be dust/hairs sort of stuff, or it could be a scratch....

To me it looks like dirt. There is always some amount of grease mixed with dust, and looks like it has been dragged with edge of cleaning swab.

any fool proof way of cleaning it off if it is indeed a smudge?

My bet is a smudge...reminds me of my focus screen when it has fuzz on it...drives me batty...
