Agree with everyone here. Skin softening isn't usually needed for men...a more rugged look will actually probably be appreciated. Clean up any blemishes, but leave the skin texture in tact.

severe acne does not allow me to remove processing all together. All I did to the last one was remove the acne as he asked.

Acne can be removed by the bandaid or healing tool without processing any skin. I think it's just the missing skin detail that most don't appreciate.

Agree that the healing tool is very useful. Do it on a 2nd layer so that you can delete and start again if needed. I've got a friend with bad rosacea that I shoot occasionally, and this is all I do to her skin as well....she's a very "natural" sort of person and rarely wears makeup. She's always been really pleased with the results. Take your time, and do it with a small brush.

EXIF says Portrait Professional.
No offense but I think this is you problem.
If you could post a the original I am sure a few will give you a run down in CS or similar.
PP is not too hard and once you have built your actions menu for routine processing it can take less than 60 seconds/image. If you have an entire set that all need the same processing you can batch process.

It's amazing how little PP work you really need to do to guys with acne. Be real careful with the bandaid tool. Make sure you work at 100% and make the circle as small as possible. Don't use the spot heal, use the regular heal and make sure you sample from good areas that match tonally.

my son had severe acne,,its a pain staking job,but it can be done

1. get the original layer and get the healing brush tool and spot healing brush tools out-- start removing the acne. dont worry about taking too much off. take it off until it looks its best.

2- put u levels layer on it and readjust the levels. i also a curves and adjust

then put a surface blur on it at about 8-10 for the guys and blend it. i usually set mine at about 75%. it will look overprocessed but you can back off the opacity if you do it on a seperate layer.....gaussian dont work to well on the guys

just my opinion:cool:

Poses are nice, although I think #2 would be better with more arm, elbow, and shoulder in the shot. But, the biggest problem I see here is the overly photo shopped skin. Even the creases at his knuckles are blurred. Back off on the skin smoothing and I think you've got some nice photos.

What he said.
