Hey Guys,

Spent the last weekend on Maui, got some cool shots and wanted to share them here. Let me know what you think.

Peace!

P.S. I was NOT expecting to get out on a ski and shoot this and was pretty unprepared. These were all shot with my nifty fifty as it's the only thing other than my WA that would fit in my lens port!

How cool. I love the second shot though the first is pretty awesome as well.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

@RyanM no, I don't think it was big gnarly enough for laird to cruise out. Just my buddies out that day.

@tomcat360 ya, first time out on the water there, pretty memorable experience. The jet ski drive up and back was just as cool as actually being there. (20 minutes each way in rough seas)

What a cool experience. Your buddies must be pretty legit to be out there with a helicopter, haha.

I looked at the gallery at your web page - really impressive! and then you used the 50mm thats even more amazing. I just got back from Maui last week and of course Jaws wasn't working in the five weeks I spend on the island :-(

Anyway, anyone who hasn't seen the gallery on Ray's page should go, and for added impressiveness, use Cooliris to watch it (http://www.cooliris.com/ (external link))

Nice work!

Second one is the best IMO. All very good though.

Nice work Ray. First is my favourite. Hopefully there's a few more decent swells this Winter!

To be horribly critical, the lack of blur in the rotors in the first one detracts ever so slightly, for me.

Cools shots all the same! :)

Two and three are so dope. Did you paddle out? That's gotta be one hell of a rush. I get pumped for head high East Coast days.

Wow, that had to be an awesome experience. I remember the first time I say Jaws on that Big Wave Riders movie, it sent chills through me. Seeing your images does the same thing, and I'd imagine being there in person would do the same. Thanks for sharing these.
