Kingston 8GB CompactFlash Ultimate 266x Card
SanDisk 8GB Extreme III CompactFlash Card

any idea about these two CF cards?

kingston: transfer rate of 45MB/sec. read and 40MB/sec.
$49
SanDisk: 30MB/second sequential write and read speed
$59

Kingston is faster and cheaper!

is Kingston better than SanDisk?

I've had one Kingston of 5 fail; one SanDisk of somewhere over 25. That's a 1 GB Kingston from a total of about 3 GB ranging between 256 MB and 1 GB, and a 1 GB SanDisk (Ultra II) from around 70-80 GB of cards ranging from 256 MB to 8 GB.

i believe sandisk is the brand of choice on here....a majority shoot with sandisk ultras and extreme.

Most of the actual speed in camera tests I've seen show the sandisk is faster than the kingston. Seems like the kingston has trouble getting into the high speed mode in most equipment while the sandisk does not.

This is a test on a recent DSLR, the 50d
