Got the canon 9000 TODAY!!! It is HUGE. Takes up a rather large area. Will have to fire it up on Saturday. Darn I can hardly wait. :D:D:D Was also looking at the 9500. But I like glossy and was told the 9000 gives a better glossy picture. Hope that was right? Am trying some canon photo paper pro II. Which other types would be good to try? Thanks.

Does the canon 9000/9500 apply some sort of clear coat to reduce smudges with moisture?
My friend has an epson somethingorother, and it applies a clear on top of the print so that if a little moisture gets on it, it will not smudge immediately. I have an epson all-in-one which promptly smudges, even with moist fingers.

edit: i think he has the 3800, or one that prints 17"x24" prints...

I got my 9000 about 2 weeks ago. It is absolutely incredible. From the very first print the results were astonishing.

I have done a lot of reading on papers.. for the most part you need to stick with Canon mainly or Hahnemule... Ilford Pearls also do well.

Do the Photo paper Pro. The results are spectacular.

Make sure everything is color calibrated and always use the paper's profile from the paper's company.

Will look at the Ilford papers. Seems like they are highly recommended. Thanks.

Red Rover paper. Excellent paper. Great site and good people to work with.

I say both Red River and Ilford paper are some of the best you can get. I love mine.

Personally, I find it increadibly satisfying to have control over the entire chain of creation. All the way from Lens to Wall...

I even cut my own mattes! :)
