Tony, I love the "that is a sweet piece of glass" comment. Cracked me up.

Heh! And now you've cracked me up! The double entendre wasn't intended, but now that you bring it to light...:)!

And it does suck to have to give up all your gear. But the guilt associated with knowing you have something worth $$ can get overwhelming.

Yeah, I've had some family members affected by my bottoming out. They're adults, though, for the most part and even if I sold all my stuff and lived in my car I wouldn't be able to keep them afloat, so I can't let myself feel much guilt. People have to help themselves in the end, no matter what we can or can't do to help them.

Hey, like I said, I hope that you guys can land on your feet, or at least quickly get on your feet!

I'm sorry to hear of your plight. I hope things look up for all of us really soon, and you even sooner.

Yeah. I expected to get some comments like this one. I'm not able to read minds and know what other people's opinions are. I've stated my own opinion about the L's. I loved what I had. It's a want not a need, whatever. I never said I was a "pro" (not sure what constitutes that term in everyone's mind anyway) and hardly think that has much to do with my purchases. And in my opinion, the third party lenses can't do what the 24-70L, 35L, or 50L can do (can't speak for the 85L, etc. as I never had it). Have you ever had a 1.2? I would certainly HOPE they had something to offer over the other lenses as they cost a heck of a lot more.

Can I please request that this doesn't become the usual bashing session? Seems this forum is the only one where people like to get on my case for seemingly no reason. It's like it's fun to gang up on someone while they're down. Seems kind of immature to be honest.

To everyone else, thanks for your support. I know the stuff will be there later and it's not more important than family. It's just that - as I've stated - I miss the stuff. But I'll be back. ;)

I have had a rough couple of years health wise as well as economy wise.
so I can see where your coming from. I think next year will be better for me and hopefully you and many others as well. good luck and god bless all of you
Greg
