I just did a bird calendar through MPix. I like their software and the format, and the turnaround was quick, but honestly I'm not impressed with the print quality. It looks like something I could have done myself on an inkjet. Not even close to a professional quality.

Liz - was the quality of paper used or what that brought the quality down? Having used mpix for some other stuff I have always been maybe not impressed but satisfied.

It's the actual printing. Looks like it came from an ink jet. In the photos that have a very blurred background, I can see striations in the solid colored areas that aren't in the photo (and I've had actual prints done of these photos before.) Just looks cheaply done to me.

Thank you all for the nice comments.

I've never had any issues with MPIX. The quality of the images I've submitted for print has always been satisfactory. If there are better ones out there, let me know. Thanks!

Never used Mpix, and after reading this, I never will. I do use White House Custom Colour (external link) though, and am very impressed with everything they do, from the paper, which is very heavy weight Kodak Professional Endura paper, The price is cheap and free shipping gets here from the Twin Cites the second day after I send in the order. Minimum order is $12. Your in Iowa, you should try them.

Nicely done and a great idea. I especially like the idea of having a variety of images all for the same month. Nice!

Kris, I don't know if they offer calendars, but their prints are top of the line, and I know they do book printing and binding.

I also use WHCC, which is nice for me because they're right here in town. And you're right, they do great work. However, I don't believe they print calendars.
