I wasn't really impressed with the original on this so I decided to try HDR on it... Yay or Nay?

I like the HDR version....you can see more detail in the trees and the clouds. It also adds a little more color to the rest of the picture...nice job.:)

I like the HDR. I don't care for the bright spot ( reflection from the sun ) It draws my eye away from the rest of the image. Also, if it were mine, I would crop some of the foreground away, thus putting more focus on the pool. I made a copy and cloned out the bright spot and took off some from the bottom of the photo. Looks good to me this way...try it and see.

I like the foreground part of the HDR, very nice. The clouds are a little too dark in the HDR though, maybe try and find a mid ground between both the shots for the clouds.

I will redo this again, brightening the sky and removing the reflection from the pool... or at least trying to. lol I'll post it again later on. I am kind of busy today though.

Thanks for all the comments and feedback, I really appreciate it.

I like the color of the spring in the original better and the clouds. About a five minute edit to bring together what I thought were the best of the two images:

Really simple as I only know the basics. all I did was put the HDR over the original and selected the eraser, but the hardness to about 88% and lowered the opacity. And just erased through the parts of the HDR image I didn't care for and brought through parts from the original underneath.
