YOUR first L lens?

6 months into having a 5D Mark II. Had to sacrifice a 50 1.4 to offset a (tiny) bit of the cost, so meh. The 35L is so tasty! A friend I shoot weddings with let me use hers to get shots from a balcony during a ceremony while she toted a rented 70-200. I was immediately hooked.

My name is Ron and I am an L-o'holic. I got my first taste of L glass last month with the help of the sale board on POTN. It was a 70-200 f4 non is. It has not come off my camera (T3i) since receiving it. I am currently looking at several other members of the L family to add to my current collection of 1.
Trying to decide if I want to go wide or longer?
I love my non L primes, but man is there a difference in L images? I will definitely be selling my 'kit' lenses very soon to get me closer to the next member of the L family once I figure out what I want.

70-200 F/4 L IS as recommended by the board members. It is great!

My first L was a 100-400 so I could shoot birds in the pond in my back yard. Here's a photo I took with it just a couple of days ago:

My first L-lens was FDn 300 mm F4 L for about 35 years ago.
I used it with my much loved Canon F1N AE (still going strong).....:p
Now I only use L-lenses expect for EFs 10-22mm with EOS 7D and 40D (40D soon replaced with 70)

I got my first L lens after about 6-8 months of getting into photography. It was the 70-200 2.8 IS II. Just got the 24-70 2.8 II last week .

I think i caught the L bug

24-70 MKII is next!! Then full frame....

First DSLR was 09/07. First L lens 10/10 (100-400mm). Fortunately, not a major sacrifice. Since then I have added 6 other Ls and have sold 1 (400mm prime). Prefer the flexibility of the 100-400. And, of those I have now if imhad to sell all but one my first would be the last to go. I love it that much.

24-105mm, got it as a kit lens with my 6D a few weeks ago.

Sold the lens for a slight profit and upgraded to the refurbished 24-70 MKII for only $100 more. SCORE!

Paid $450 for is used. Sharp. Still have it. Wish I shot more subjects that required distance but using more walkaround stuff.

After saying I'd probably never own an "L", my first was the 70-200 2.8L IS v.1 ... which I still have and started the "L" obsession :P

A 17-40L ... followed by 24-70 and 70-200 f2.8IS

.... sadly quite a few more since - and credit card bills from hell

I bought a T2i in 2010, then sold it and bought a 40d last year. I just got my first L on Wednesday, a 70-300 4-5.6 L. Really nice!!! Now if the weather would clear so I can go try it out.
