70-200II...and it was all downhill from there

well done. It's my absolute favorite lens, easily. It stuns me every time I load pictures into lightroom.

Nothing else is as good, in my opinion (save for the 200 f2). So in technicall, in my opinion, it would all be "downhill" from there ;)

I waited for one of those double rebate events and bought the 24L II, the 24-70L, and the 70-200L II IS. They're all big and heavy, the way I like them.

24-105 was my first. Now have 70-200 f4 and 16-35. It's hard to go back to just "regular" lens.

My first and only is the 70-200mm f/4 non IS. I really want to get the 24-105 but being in college that is not going to happen anytime soon.

My first was also the 70-200 f4 non is. Seeing as it was cheap. Just last year. I thought I'd struggle to get another. Now I've had 2 24-105, 24-70, 135 and I just purchased a 70-200 f/2.8 is mk 2. It's a slippery slope haha

Mine was the 70-200 F4L IS and I love it. 24-105 is my next L lens. And I'll still keep my 17-55 as a wide angle lens and 24-105 as a walk around.

Back at the end of '07, I returned a Rebel XT to Walmart and exchanged it for the new XTi. Within a month or two, I purchased an EF TSE-24mm L lens for architecture work (read "hobby"), but sold it when I switched to Nikon. After a couple of years with Nikon, and then Pentax, I returned to Canon. Last year, I bought a used 70-200 f/4 IS lens. It didn't have the reach I wanted for wildlife at the zoo and wild animal park, so I bought a gently-used 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L a couple of weeks ago and sold the 70-200. The pics I've gotten so far have been awesome, but I have yet to get to the zoo. Definitely, not a lens to handhold!

Bungling photography since 2007.

24-105mm f4 was my first since it came with my 5DIII along with 85mm f1.2 LII. Since then, I sold both lenses and bought 70-200mm mkii and my 24-70mm f2.8 LII arrived 2 days ago.
New 24-70 LII will replace my 35 and 50mm primes.

First was the 200 2.8 this past July that I fell in love with, but later sold for the drainpipe, which I equally love.

In my quest to find the perfect lenses, along the way I have also briefly owned a 24-105, 17-35, and twice had a 17-40 before settling on the 4 I have. I've been able to turn all of them around for a profit to help fund my current collection.
