nope. anyone who preordered at blacks have to wait till sometime this week. maybe even next week.. we did get the 2799 price lockdown though. but so did aden camera and they got cameras in the first shipment. i don't mind the wait.. the 5D II is actually a backup for my 1D II. I might be doing a wedding in Jan so that would give me enough cash to get the 1D III again.

I'm kicking myself for not getting the pre-order and the 2799 lock-down - extra $300 to get it now..oh well

the $2799 price was the pre-order price that many Canadian stores quoted to match the US price. But when our dollar dropped like a rock, they upped the price to $3099.

some stores have honoured the original price but most of them have updated to the higher price. it's still a decent price (considering the 5D mkII costs $2700 US which is almost $3400 Canadian at today's exchange rate).

It's just a discount I'm getting through a friend of mine, so the price isn't available to everyone ;) .

Are you unable to find a 5D though? or are you just looking for the best price? I know that London Drugs should be getting them in within 2 weeks. Blacks also just got their shipment - but it is all reserved for pre orders.
