I paid $4,100 for my 1D3 less than a year ago, but now I am regularly seeing them selling used for ~ $3,000.00. In fact, I saw one today, on FM, less than a year old selling for $2,900.00. Ahhh, wish that I had just waited a few months and bought mine used. Thank goodness glass holds it's value better.

I thought that the 1Ds dropped at the release of the 5D Mark II... at least I remember seeing that $1500 drop in one of the threads right before they started to ship.

I just bought my first 1D MK III quality camera (its an, um, 1D MK III) from B&H on 12-2-08. $3750. Showed up that friday. Yellow dot, 57XXXX. Haven't had a chance to real world it, but so far I"m stoked. Especially coming from a Rebel XT.

How large can you print before quality degradation begins? I'm on the fence between a 1D Mark III and the 5D Mark II.

There is always the 1DS Mark II. Cheaper than the 1D3, more res, bang-on AF, similar handling (of course much slower FPS, 4 vs. 10), like a big brother to the 5D2. $2500 is a common price these days.

Thought about the 1D Mark II. I like the newer technology of current breed of cameras. So what the printing size limitations of the 1D Mark III?
