Gitzo EXPLORER Tripods - need 'em in 3- series!

I have a Gitzo 2540 Explorer tripod (carbon fiber). I love it!

Anybody know why Gitzo doesn't do these Explorers in the 3- series?
The 2- series is great but a bit flimsy in some conditions and I'd prefer thicker legs but with the same terrific mechanism.
