Seriously.

I got my XTi last year with the 18-55 IS. I figured it would be a great "all around" lens. It is great, but I decided I needed more telephoto capabilities, so after a while I got the 55-250 IS too. I thought I was almost there, but my setup would be "complete" if I could just grab a Nifty Fifty. I finally ordered one today, but I'm already eyeing the low-end L series lenses now. Ach!!

Financially, it's absolutely not an option, and the three lenses I have are the perfect setup for my skill level, but I swear this addiction is getting out of hand. ;)

Ditto!!

I too started out with the XTi with the kit lens and a sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro thinking it would be great and last me a long time. It was great, but I found myself wanting more...

so I got a grip for the XTi, then stepped up to the tamron 28-75 2.8 for better light, range, quality and such... then came the 40D and 100-400 and NOW I want a 580EX II, Kenko extention tubes, another one or two memory cards and a battery grip for my 40D... Those are on my "reasonable" wish list, that doesnt include the 70-200 2.8, 50 1.8, 100 2.8 macro and 10-22 that I would love to have but my wallet would hate me for life!!!

Good luck fighting the addiction!! I know im not having much luck!

Yeah, this site doesn't help much either. I got my first SLR 2 months ago. Already added a 55-250mm, 50mm 1.8, flash, tripod, and now I think I want a 85 1.8 and a super wide angle like the 10-22. Cursed lenses.

I am sure as soon as I finish my perfect EF-S collection, I will decide to upgrade to full frame! :)

I feel your pain. I could've gotten another car with the money I've spent on this hobby.

There are NO "low-end" L lenses - some are just a little friendlier
to your bank account than others!

Just one?!

Yeah, this hobby is actually pretty crazy when it comes to money...

Just don't tell the better 1/2. ;)

Dropping double the price of the car I owned when I was a student for a lens. Now THAT'S living.

I feel you. It is the only thing I spend money on besides food. Sometimes it gets a little ridiculous. As a matter of fact, I have a photo related package coming in tomorrow.

Let's say if you mainly shoot landscape, why you need so many lenses or keep changing lenses?

What if you're shooting a landscape and you spot a sea eagle 100 metres from shore. Then that 800mm prime you have in your pocket will come in handy.

True, if you mainly shoot landscapes. A wide/normal lens might be OK.

It's just we want MORRRE!@@!!

The scary thing is that is almost exactly the same path i am traveling into :) After the 250 and 50mm I just got myself a 430ex flash unit, you might want one of those next too ;)

By the time you switch lens, the sea eagle disappeared and then you need to switch back the lens again. All you did was to add some dust to your sensor. with one lens, you will never let any dust get in.:D
