Brudda Mario,

I think you went the right way. I know the 24-60 (which I have) is not near wide enough at times. But I have the 10-20 to use at those times. So getting the 18-50 is a key buy for now...and nothing is gonna be near as wide as your old FF rig...but soon as you get that back in your bag you'll like having that 18-50...btw, did you get the macro or non-macro version? From reading and looking at shots I don't see a lot of IQ difference between them. I suspect the odds are you are not gonna need to get 6" away from your subject...then again rumor has it you might need to be a tad...closer....snickersnickersnicker....

Real men shoot Pentax because we're born with our own Canon's!!

Hey Rob,

This was the Macro version. And it worked beautifully. This is in fact a lens that will stay with me forever. I am working on something like

18-50
50 (1.4?)
70-200

That is all I need. I was able to snap some shots with unparalleled quality, and take portrait photos at 50mm 2.8 which came out perfectly. I will have to post a photo or two, but I am very glad I chose this lens.

It fixed both the "Wide Angle" problem, as well as the "Wide Aperture" all the way across.

The 18-50EX Macro is a great lens. My copy is very sharp wideopen and I NEVER get the irritating change of aperature as I change focal lengths since its a costant f/2.8.

I was testing my brothers Sigma 17-70 and it worked great but it'll annoy you if your trying to do some creative f/2.8 photos and the aperature changes on you.
