Why is it that when you create a new thread and subscribe to it, within the options of posting a new thread, you never receive notifications of new posts? You have to unsubscribe and resubscribe, or make a post within the thread with Instant Email Notification checked on.

Been intriguing me for awhile, thought I'd ask :)

What is your subscription option set up as in your profile?

You mean Default Subscription Options? It's set to No Subscription, but shouldn't what I choose in the drop-down box under the edit box for a new thread override that? Well it does in a sense - if I choose subscribe with a new thread it is listed in my subscribed thread list, I just never receive emails until I unsubscribe and resubscribe, or make a new post within the thread.

Not a big issue, though. So you think the default option is messing up my voluntary option?

Once you've subscribed to a thread, you can set the notification options up per thread.

Go into your Control Panel, and then into your list of subscribed threads. Then mark one (or more) by ticking the box on the far right. Then click on the drop-down next to "selected threads" and you'll get a list of notification options.
