Oh, I plan on it. I just received the 7D a couple days ago. I needed a better camera for school and when my loan money arrives, I plan to purchase better lenses. Do you have suggestions on what lenses (besides L edition) to get for the 7D? I don't quite earn enough money yet for the higher end lenses.

Again, sell the 7D in favor of the XT ;).

The XT is a wonderful camera (I'm speaking from experience). With some great glass it can produce some amazing images. If you sold the 7D (and heck even the XT in favor of something more like a 30D or a 40D) you would have even more money for awesome glass.

I love the 7D and wouldn't dare sell it. It was a gift for college from my parents. I'll be getting a check from school for approx. $2000. I plan on buying at least 2 lenses for it. I am considering the 50mm 1.4 lens and I'm deciding on a second and possible third. I am considering on selling the XT along with the kit lens to Adorama Camera, but I may keep it just in case something happens to the 7D.

The 50mm f/1.4 (Sigma or Canon) and the least expensive 70-200mm f/4L are a great start! Maybe a decent tripod on top of that?

The 7D is one sexy camera. It looks a lot more... plump than the other bodies.

Here's another one, this time with the EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM. (Crappy cell phone picture, again, sorry.)

So, I'm at a dilema here. I'll be buying myself a Speedlite 430EX II further on. I don't need the extra features of the 580EX II right now.
Also, there's an EF 24-105 f/4 L IS USM on its way (gift from dad). I'm really keen on selling this 1000D and buying the 7D, for I think it will make the most of this lens. The Speedlite control feature also turns me on. And the weather sealing of both 24-105 and 7D... not that I'll be singing in the rain, but... just in case...

What do you think? Please give me your input, for there's a lot of money in question! :)

I would say go with the 420EX II, unless you need the extra lighting, I dont see why you cant use the 420.

As for body, like allways glas befor body, since you're getting the 24-105 L as a gift theres not much of a spending spree on that one, what about the 70-200 f4 L?
Then pick up a nice used 7D from the sell forum here, then you've got weather sealing from 24mm to 200mm.

Just my $.02
