Latest Craigslist Victory! (just cleaned them up yesterday, found the missing parts on eBay, and they need new seals, otherwise good to go!) (external link) by Abram Goglanian (external link), on Flickr

Got myself a new little restoration project. Some of it will be sold, but I'm gonna have a little Film fun for a while!

Bringing back some fond memories...

I use to tote that exact same set up...lens and all. Two A-1's with motor drives.....

I really don't understand the lack of trust against the BR systems... I have yet to see a disastrous results from using one that was caused by a blatant problem with the strap. ???

There used to be a discussion forum, at rphotographers.com, that you would find via BR's webpage, and there were several stories about expensive failures there. Now I can't find the forum, it seems to be gone, and I wonder why ...

I bought a double strap system but have never used it, the D-rings began to split just from trying the strap at home. No way am I hanging thousands of dollars from those weak fasteners.

There have been a few issues here on our own forum with it falling apart.

Hanging over $10,000 of equipment..yeah, Im going to have a hard time trusting anything that has more than a 1:10,000 failure rate.

Like I said, I have not seen nor experienced a failure of the BR system myself, so my confidence level in them is right there at the top.

But in the event of something disastrous...well, thats why I have insurance. Anyone who carries around that much gear without insurance, pro or not, is a fool. ;)

And im done with the hi-jack of this thread. :p

Nobody cares about your gear list...

Im insured..but insurance wont replace that setup IMMEDIATELY.

IDK about anyone else..but I dont walk around 2 complete setups just for fun..when im doing it, its because Im on assignment. Losing one of my setups during a reception would be a disaster. I have backups, but the backups are backups for a reason..

I have both the single and the double BR strap and they work great.
I have the new D-rings (both the stainless version and the casted ones) and they seems very rigid...
Did you use the old original D-rings?

Sorry for the OT

R strap did that. My friend is really bad at wearing pieces of fabric. Works fine for me.

After reviving my Flickr this is the first image I'm posting (joy!). I shot this last November while procrastinating on a paper. Old but still kicking...

Indeed - I'm really loving the images from it (if only I had time to shoot more!).

Which lenses do you have? I had the 50/75/150 trio myself. All PE versions. I wish i held on to it honestly.
