Been to a bunch of big events with a 1 series w/ a white L lens and most security guys just stare. Very uncomfortably but w/o hassle

Yeah, it's never fun when you are at an event or even the mall where you have loads of people taking pics and security singles you out. It's happened to me a few times. Next time it happens I'm going to take a pic of the security guys themselves and start a picture thread on it. lol

you probably created "attention" to yourself as to why they singled you out.

Not really making a switch, I'm waiting for the D700 replacement and just using the D7000 in the meantime. I have faith that it will happen this year.

yeah, glad I didn't wait it out when I went through my nikon phase... That was back in August of 2009... Everyone said a D800 would come within a month and I should hold off. That the rebate at the time was due to the new model.... I've since owned a D700 for a YEAR and switched back!!!

but yeah, that DOES mean you're closer to getting a D800!

different locations/security have different rules. Go to fenway and you can bring in a 1 series with a 70-200. Go to foxborrow and you're lucky to get in a rebel with an 18-55...

Here's my current setup:

40d (bought used with 8k actuations, now has 11k), with the 17-40mm L lens. First time up to a dslr, and loving it. You can check out the 40d section with some of my shots in it. Again, im only a rookie.
