I picked up 10 rolls of Kodak 400TX B&W from B&H when I got the camera. My professor suggested it, and I don't really know anything about film, so I went with it. Any recommendations for when I need more? hpulley Goldmember 4,390 posts Joined Oct 2009 More info | Slide film is positive, you can look at it and the colors are normal while negative film is reversed so with B&W film the negative strip shows black where the scene is light and white where it is dark. With color negative film it is the opposite too, dark and light and colors as well. A scanner or a printer will flip things around but slides are not necessarily printed, they are projected so they must be the correct color and light/darkness already but we're polluting the camera thread here.  flickr
