I do not have a sample, but the 17 hours is possible at very low temperatures. Just saying it cans handle anything you can throw at it. I would say 5 hours is the most you would ever need. However NDs are usually used when the shutter speed is a lot quicker, to bring it down to show motion, so I'm still interested to know what you shoot that even 30 seconds isn't long enough?

Downtown Los Angeles at night using a long exposure to get city lights or say star trails out in the middle of the desert is one practical application. Another is using ND filters during daylight to get effects with movement in clouds, as well as water. In my experience shooting any water for say 10 minutes instead of 30 seconds really makes it smooth, in 30 seconds it still has a sense of motion. I like it to look like still fog which makes for good B+W Rick Rose - Add me!

Anyone who thinks an even passably knowledgeable thief can't recognize expensive camera gear by mass and shape is kidding themselves... ![]() Bingo. An ignorant crackhead will steal anything, whether it's worth $5 or $5,000, so taped cameras are not safe from them. A run-by grabber won't have enough time to scope out what you have...he sees a DSLR and he'll take it. And a smart thief (the one who targets high-end cameras specifically) will know exactly what's under all that tape. -=Prints For Sale at PIXELS=-

When I had my 70-200, I bought a $7 eBay collar for it and it looked/performed exactly as the Canon equivalent. -=Prints For Sale at PIXELS=-
