DEPP,
You have an amazing collection. Thank you for sharing those images. I love old Nikon gear, and have a very modest collection I have built up over the last 30 years, but nowhere near as prolific as yours.

Thanks...Raising a family it took a while to collect some of Nikkors best glass. Then a year & half ago I sold more the a few of best lenses and the F4 and a two year old F6 to fund some Canon glass and a 50D.In hindsight I shouldn't have sold most of the glass, because they would have worked well digitally.

Woahhh nice! I'm progressively getting more and more into video. I'd like to build a rig like that sometime. I'm planning on getting the Z-Finder from Zacuto soon once I can sell my Medium Format kit

Ugh, I wish I could afford a follow focus. I still don't understand how they can cost so much...

Know what? I, no, WE, hate you! LOL! Just kidding.:D:D:D

I was looking at this setup and noticed how sharp and colorful the pic is, then I saw your sig. Saw "RED". That explains it.

Very lovely setup.

An L lens does not make you a better shooter. Color is all about the post-processing. Sharpness doesn't make a bad picture any better.

..i don't see where he even implied that. he just said the photos he saw had very rich colors and were sharp. these are both trademarks of higher quality lenses. it was a comment about the technical qualities of the images, not a measure of the photographer nor was it stated that having high grade lenses would compensate for the shortcomings of the person behind the camera.

it sounds like you have an ax to grind. :p

Love the pic's guys, there's some amazing rigs. But I still do think people need to try and not get worked up and bogged down that some other guys have such amazing kit compared to you.

As a young shooter trying to establish a carreer in film, seeing the kit mastamarek just bought I can't help but let it knock my confidence a bit when I'm making films with my simple set up... but I think people need to remember that yes, awesome kit is great.. and it can make getting the results easier, and in cases yes can improve your results... but there's so much more to a great photo or film than the gear.

Just don't want people feeling they need to spend time/money they don't really have to burn on getting gear they feel they need, so take this thread lightly :)

Just my 2C

I could no longer resist the urge to invest in a 7D so i went ahead and cracked open my piggybank and went to the camerastore in town. :)
Here's what i came home with.. a Canon EOS 7D with a used Sigma 17-70/2,8-4,5 and a Sandisk 16GB UDMA memorycard. It feels awesome! :D

Congrats!

.... Here's another pic, they came out a bit noisy (Xsi + High ISO don't mix well) but I still like it.

You'll enjoy it!! READ up on the Focus System. It is completely different than anything Canon has offered before, and it will take some getting used to. I love mine!! Have Fun... and go take some photos with it!
