Well last night i took ownership of a 5DII, very happy! but i'm having issues and aint very happy... (ok let me qualify, very happy with the camera!, but am having issues with the battery so not very happy 'specifically' about the battery :) hehehe

I just wanted to see if anyone else is having problems with their battery as in not charging. I had it on first time charge overnight for about 8 hours whilst i slept, checked it in the morning and the charger is constantly flashing orange, as in almost charged?? It should take 2.5 to 4 hours?? Installed the battery into camera and the battery reading is on the lowest bar.
Might be a faulty charger or a faulty battery, has anyone else experienced anything similar?
Cheers

I just picked mine up. It charged in like 2 hours, stopped flashing and went full green.

Also got mine yesterday gambit and it took about 2 hours to go from low battery reading to green (fully charged). Possibly battery wasn't properly locked into charger? I have taken probably 150 shots last night and today as well as three 15 second videos, and I still show battery three-quarters full.

Maybe try plugging the charger into a new outlet? Or run the battery down in the camera, and then try charging it? Strange issue.

Well dropped off the battery and the charger with the retailer, they got the battery to charge on another charger, so its a suspect charger, waiting on Canon Aust to get a new one to me.

I bought a 5D Mark II, it was delivered on 12/24, I charged it once, got the green light in a couple of hours and after using about half the battery IAW onboard fuel gage I tried to charge it again. No luck, it starts out like a half charged battery with 2 orange flashes every second, but soon goes in to a fast flash mode and stays that way until it is unpluged. In two hours the charge went from 64% to 65%. I contacted Canon and they said they didn't have any batteries, they were all back ordered. They told me to contact B & H. I did that tonight via email and will try by phone tomorrow.

A great camera other than that, I love it so far. Good thing I haven't sold my 5D Mark nothing yet.

Yeah this problem is very annoying, good luck with it. i eventually got a new charger from the retailer as canon australia did not have any stock, the only reason i got a replacement is because someone had returned their entire 5DII kit, and the retailed just swapped chargers for me out of the returned kit.
