I simply can't believe it. I literally got the Mark III camera (Serial 570xxx) from Dell yesterday and today I went to my cousin's hockey game to try it out with my Canon 300mm 2.8 L....everything was going fine until picture #248. After that I got the dreaded Err99. Turned it off, heard the shutter click back into place, then turned it on. I was able to take another picture, then the subsequent one another Err99. Repeated these step 5-6 times and finally got fed up and stopped using the camera.
I went home and fully charged the battery, although it didn't need to be. I connect a 24-70 L lens to it, attempted to take a picture....Err99
WTF!
I've read tons of forums about Err99 and the Mark III. Basically I'm screwed and have to send it to Canon. I'm hoping I can just return it to Dell for a brand new one...I'll have to call and see.
The worst part about this is I'm leaving on vacation on Friday for 2 weeks. I WANTED TO BRING THE CAMERA!! *#&$#)(#**
Just completely pissed and disappointed. Merry X-mas.
