Yeah, those are a couple of the minor ones. There were some much bigger ones as well.

I have a pile of tree limbs in my driveway about the size of my truck. I'll try to get a picture tonight.

It may now be the time to start a "Oh why did I not put that picture forward for the book" thread.

I have just posted a picture in the TPBM thread and have decided it is the best picture I took last year, and did I enter it for the book? did I hec :-(

I have many such regrets. All I had to do is clone out the sign in the doorway at the end, and I would have put this one forwards. It's one of the few good photos I took this year.

I don't recall tripod manufacturers putting that spec on their specifications....how do you determine that?

I just did it by trial and error. Usually the four section tripods are tall enough for me to use without raising the center post. I have a carbon fiber Giottos that has a removable center post. If you plan on doing a lot of macro, you might want to look at one that will go flat to the ground and/or allow the center post to be attache as a side arm. This, coupled with live view, will make the process so much easier. Something like this:

I googled the apple bottoms. I know what they are but did not know the name.
Now I don't want to leave google images:confused:

Yeah, I see what you mean...

Someone just used the central vacuum system in their house to suck out the fireplace ashes. Really not a good idea.

Let me guess... The fire wasn't completly out?

I do that a fair bit, but there's a point at which the beard gets too itchy to cope with any I just have to attack it with the razor.

After a while you get used to it...
