I am looking at the softbox actually, looks like something I might like. For bouncing I just use an index card, who I could do something a little more imaginative.

We use bounce cards when the ceilings are low and the Lumiquest when they are high. The gold insert gives a nice warm glow, I haven't used the silver except playing at the beginning, so I don't remember when I would use it.

I've never read that one...had to look it up. It was funny.

It was my son's favorite nursery rhyme, he spent many a night on grandpa's lap having it read to him. Made a very strong memory as grandpa died when CJ was 3 and now at 30 he still remembers those moments. If you ever read it out loud you will increase the tempo as you add the verses.

I have to say, it was SO cool to be there when my bride looked at her book. Getting to see her reaction was worth WAY more than any profit I made.
I definitely came away smiling.

Those moments make it so worth the effort. A senior package I delivered last week I knew would bring mom to tears. This is her only child, and sure enough, reality set in when she saw the prints. Her daughter wasn't there, work:(, so I didn't get to see her reaction to the gift collage. Mom, Dad, Grandma and Aunt kept commenting on the layout and shots used, then one suddenly saw I used her jacket in the background having pulled down the transparency, they loved it. Don't know if you all do this, but; here the kids get nylon jackets and sew their letters, class year on the front and sleeve. On the back they sew on all their extracurricular activities...let me clarify, school approved extracurricular activities.;)

Also, in LR when I look in the library the photos have some sort of adjustment applied as I scroll thru, I don't want that but can't figure out how to make it go away.

LR has default settings that you need to change. You can also create your own presets and import and/or export using them. I have several user defined settings for export, depending on where the file will eventually be used. When exporting I usually use the "longest" side for sizing. 800 for shots I will be posting here, 1800 for 4x6 prints, 2100 for 5x7 and full size for anything bigger. For prints I also keep my crop close to those long size, you can have the crop size displayed in the upper LH corner in the develop modual. LR2's sharpening on export works well too, we will pull the quality down to 80 and sharpen at "standard" for either print or screen.

Because I add frames in PSP X for shots in here, I don't sharpen on export. I sharpen after I add the frame and copyright.

They were perfectly sharp in LR, lost that in photobucket.

Do you use the lumi bounce card that Cat has?

If you have LR2 try sharpen for screen...standard and see if it makes a difference.

Curt made our bounce cards out of a plastic type material. The velcro is set at 2 levels on each side to give us some adjustment capabilities:

neat...I might stop at the craft store tomorrow before the photo shop!! I am taking photos indoors in an older building with high ceilings, but during the day when there is ambient light in the room.I'm thinking softbox for fill, but I'm not sure.

When are you doing this, Crissa? I could shoot some examples for you, if you want using the Lumiquest bouncer and the softbox, if you can wait a couple days.

I definitely came away smiling. :D

AND I have a pre-order for another book for the 50th anniversary shoot that I've got this weekend. :D

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My first book from WHCC should be here the end of the week too, for a client....I'm really nervous about this one as well as she's been showing EVERYONE her photos, so the book HAS to rock her world.
