Hubby and I went for a drive through the mountains a few days ago. It was almost dark out, but here is a couple pics to show all the snow we have. The snow in the valley is gone now though.

This first pic is of a road that isn't plowed out.

My youngest died of sids and my FIL's sister did as well. Some of the folks here know that...it's a terrible thing. And is very scarring. Years ago, I told both my kids never to ask for us to keep their children overnight while they are infants. Not that anything would happen but it's an awful thing and unfortunately it has scarred us.

I'm so sorry Lisa. I cannot image. sending huge hugs. HUGE hugs.

thanks Diane. It's not something I'd want anyone to ever experience. It was a long time ago...it'll be 21 years ago in April...we never had any more children and it was a good thing for us. I don't think I could have been calm at any point for the first half dozen years at minimum. As it was I had a tendency to overprotect Tiffany and Andrew after that.

it's also not for me, it's for my friend. I'd hate to point him to a forum to buy something only to have it be a disaster. that's why I'm trying to find something from a "known" entity.:p

I'm thinking about going to B&H for a new 40D. At $792.00 for a new body with warranty, buying a used body in the mid $600.00 range is not quite so attractive.

Mornin' Deb. *sniffle, cough*

did you catch Deb's cold?

I'm just now finishing off with that Christmas bug. Stomach is still "tender" but the good news is I've jump started my diet. I've lost almost 10 lbs.

I'm so sorry, Lisa. It is very scarring. Both of the babies in my family were my cousins. One of them would of been my age. My Aunt and Uncle, who lost her, had two boys as well. Both the boys died in a camping accident. And now that I have totally made myself sad again, I am going to quit talking about it.

lol...I can honestly say w/o any hesitation or worry, you are going to love that lens.

your package originally was scheduled for Tues. Someone obviously is a golden child ;)

A very close friend lost her son to SIDS... it was December 6, 2004... it is blazed in my brain... and he wasn't my son.. .his aunt is the director of our childcare center... all the teachers doted on him in our infant classroom...

I'm sorry it happened to you :(

My friend went on to have twin boys.. Kristian and Kaedon are now 2 years old! I still don't think she sleeps well at night though.....

That's a nasty bug, isn't it? I've got to be so careful what I eat to. Eh well. Least you were able to lose some weight....I'm not sure I actually did. Jeans still fit the same.

I'm not sure I could have more kids after either. "Simple" miscarriage is hard enough.

I can understand fully. I had a younger sister that died at age two from aspirin poisoning. This was in the 1950's before the days of child-proof caps on medications. My mother was never the same after that and I'm convinced it was what caused her to drink excessively and then become reclusive later in life.

I had to go back and check for sure... I'm not firing on all cylinders this morning with this cold. :( Hey, maybe somebody up there likes me...
