GAH. I just had a frustrating TMS experience. I went in to pick up my lenses (they were meeting B&H prices so I couldn't resist buying locally). I gave them my debit card and it said "insufficient funds". I KNEW there was enough money in there...thankfully my bank was across the street so I walked over and found out that it was a "daily limit" issue...only so much can be used on your card per day. I never knew this. Mostly because I use credit for everything and pay it off from my bank account. Anyway, so the teller says "I'll get you a cashiers check if you want". I say "okay" and take it back over to the camera store...who then can't figure out how to run a cashier's check through equifax...so then after much waiting (HOLY MOO!! I JUST WALKED ACROSS THE STREET AND GOT IT FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE) they finally decide to call the bank and make sure that the bank printed it (like I have a printer in my car?? GAH)...

It used to be that a cashier's check was the same as cash. I didn't want to walk out of the bank with over $3k so I had it printed up DIRECTLY to the store. . HOW MUCH EASIER can it get?? Apparently not. sigh

It was just the culmination of a frustrating afternoon. I went to TWO shipping stores to ship out the things purchased from me today. Neither were open. Why? Because no one was doing pick-ups or deliveries. Apparently the shipping companies take more time off than the rest of the world for holidays.

Holy wow! I'd be peeved too!

May 2009 bring you all increased blabbering and happiness. May all your lenses be shiney and your pictures colourful (except when they're in black and white).

Felicitations.

Pete & Ali.

Likewise!

Here's a couple of Kona shots with one of the new lenses. It was almost dark when I took them so they are at 2500 iso (but run through NR).

I can't figure out nikon's aiservo (continuous servo to them). I'm gonna need a lot more light and practice too once I figure out the settings.

Holy freaking cuteness batman!

question: if you set up your voice recognition stuff when you're a bit drunk, do you think it would recognize you the next morning?

ROFLMAO!

Happy new year folks! I will be ringing in the new year sober and in bed. WOOHOO!

No lie, that sounds like an absolutely wonderful evening! I'm full of envy!! I'm with my family-in-laws again they live 3.5 hours away and I see them more then I ever saw my gma who used to live 20 minutes away (and I saw her a lot! *tries to be thankful that at least fil doesn't hate us and not feel smothered instead...*

I sometimes covet the time I spend with Eli, he's usually fun and we play well together :) All of my immediate family on both sides are within 20 minutes of us and we see them a LOT. NYE is just not a thing we've ever had a tradition about and I'm happy for that.

anyone ever try the voice recognition stuff on Vista? Pretty cool!

Nope, I'll have to find that feature.

I do...a New Years eve bonfire sounds awfully fun.

I'd love to help blow things up....but can I bring the cam, too?? Sounds like it could result in some fun pictures!

Hubby is doing the same, but in bed. He BEGGED his boss for the night off....and went to bed at 2. He had all these big plans of going out, doing something "fun" without the kids....then I told him there's not a sitter to be had....and he went to sleep. He's silly.

Eli is playing the air guitar to Sponge bob's "I'm a Goofy Goober". David Hasselhoff saved the day in this episode, but don't tell cat.
