right now, i have a chance to pick up a 1Ds III or 1D III, same condition.
and they just less than $2300 difference!

donot know which one to pick!!!!!!

hurry up only have 2 days to think!

1D III is cheaper, but not FF and also only 10.0
but 1Ds III is FF, and also 21.6

i was thinking to have a 5D + 1D III. is that too crazy?

damn really hard to decide! Do these 2 1D and 1Ds really have huge difference?????

btw, i have 14 L II, 35L, 50L, 135L, 100-400L, 70-200L IS 2.8

thanks guys!

What do you shoot? That would be the deciding factor. If you are considering either of these cameras, this is really something that you should already have a grasp of.

By the way, it says in your sig that you already own a 1D3. Do you need this camera as a back up or do you just need something different?

Honestly, it's up to you. I personally see the 1Ds as more of a specialty camera than the 1D. Unless you are a person who finds he needs 21mp, then the 1D should suffice. Ask yourself: are you more likely to print huge or crop huge than you are to shoot sports or action shots? I stated in my earlier post that if you are considering either of these cameras then you should really know which one you need, and I stand by that statement. $2300 seems like a lot of money to spend impulsively.

yeah, you r right~
2300 is huge~

btw, i have not seen any guy selling the 1Ds III here.
Does the 1Ds III even has market here in POTN?
so if i choose the 1ds III, is it really hard to resell it? or not?

thanks

To be honest, it doesn't really sound like you need either of them, maybe get good glass (even though you already have alot). I'd lean 1DMk3, since you already are FF, but that's just me. (Even though your primes are definitely geared towards FF...)

maybe I just get a 1D III then.
later trade the 1D III to a 5D II.

is that Doable?
does anyone would trade a new 5D II to a less than 2k shots 1D III?

would you?

thanks

What's the point? Why not just buy the 5D2 in the first place? Doing a trade like that would put you a grand in the hole. It really sounds like you don't know what you want or why you want/need it in the first place and are just looking for a way to burn some cash.

If you really are so intent on getting a new camera, then I do recommend the 1D, although the 5D2 sounds like a really fun camera to play with. Since you haven't stated what you need the camera for yet, I'd push for the 1D as it is more of a "do all" camera than any other.

Don't you already have both of these? You had both of them for sale not to long ago.
BTW I see my lens has left Canada...just a few more days I think.

I see. All that stuff and no camera for you...that would be tough seeing all that good stuff sitting there. Though it does look like you already have great glass.

I love both bodies but, if I had to choose, I would go with the 1Ds III.
