personally I love the colour composition. Love the shade and light under the tree. Shame you lost the original but this is very cool!

Thanks Flaky, yes I actually love it for that reason too. and yeah I learn now to create backup for anything I edit :)

The photo makes me think Science Fiction. In fact the New Zealand connection is very apt, because in fact my first thought was "Lord of the Rings".
Sort of how life might have evolved on another planet!

Yes, thats what my work colleague said too, it looks more to painting rather than photo. By the way this is actually taken in Indonesia (Mount. Bromo) at that time I don't have slr, I just use my 4mp Sony cybershot. Actually this is one of the simple snapshoot photo I took that make me to like photography.

If you set your image editing to 'OK', I'll post the result of backing off the cyan...

Sorry, how do I set editing to OK? I will try to set ok

For me, the photo creates tension between the symmetry in the background vs. the interestingly random foreground tree.

The color is also different, creating contrast.

Very nice photo.

In the Control Panel area, go to Edit Profile, then Additional Information, then the first item in that section is for giving permission to alter your photos and repost

[edit] Oh, I see you figured out how to do it already...here's the desaturated Cyan channel, which seems to restore a bit of the 3-dimensionality to the photo

You need to give me OK to edit your image and repost! Keep POTN alive and well with member support https://photography-on-the.net/forum/donate.php

I like the first one you posted. It does look a little over saturated, but it "works" in this case!
