Christmas Bird Count

I am doing one this saturday and on the 4th

Instead of doing my local count, I helped out a bird count out of town this past weekend that needed a few more people. It was snowing and we found 20 species including 2 kestrels, 3 snow buntings, a white-throated sparrow, and a bunch of robins. The most numerous species we saw were tree sparrows - about 70 of them! It was fun and I encourage everyone interested in birds to get involved. There are still counts going on into the first week of January.
