First, they were too big for CES -- they had to have their own show.

Now, they're too big for their OWN show....

It was reported that in a rage, Steve Jobs fired himself...

So what's next, the PMA won't attend PMA next spring?

Tragic! It's always been the highlight of Macworld, but now - what's the point? This reminds of of the scaling back that E3 did. Trade shows are dead.

You do realize that it is not "their" show.

Yeah. But its kind of like saying its not your surprise birthday party in a way. They loved it before the iPod -- it gave them legitimacy they struggled to keep (Merlin anyone?). Now that they have the US's 4th most popular smart phone, I guess they have better things to do!

Seems like a bad move to me... but hey, they're Apple. :)

Maybe they're gonna have their own show now. Like Super Mac World. Or maybe super Mac brothers. Or Mac vs Luigi......

Sorry, didn't get enough sleep last night........

Totally. And in these rough financial times they are a complete waste of $$$$$$. Who personally attends trade shows anyway? We all get our news on the internet and we only trust people after extensive reviews. As far as announcements of products go, we can get the same lame truncated garbage and tiny webshots of some guy holding something or standing next to something from Apple directly.

In more interesting, but purely hypothetical and likely untrue news: Some jokers are guessing (aka tossing blind rumors everywhere) that Apple just might announce a netbook soon. I'm not buying it, because it would make too much sense, and Apple only releases products about 18-24 months AFTER they started making sense (at the point where you can't believe it doesn't already exist).
