Well, I was a 1-series guy for last last year or so, you won't hear me ****. So far (this after owning for less than a day) I'm in hog heaven, this new 5D2 is really really great, can't wait to get it out in decent weather. Yes, I guess I'm raving, best IQ i've seen for sure. Better than my 1Dsmk2's, better than my 1Dmk3's, and better than my 5D's.

OH cmon... this camera sucks. It has black dots when you zoom in 1600% and also has banding when you shoot in a totally dark room on sRaw2 while underexposing by 6 stops.

Recent rumors include that the new 5d is making photographers impotent, is blowing limbs off their bodies, reducing creativity and dooming the marriage of any wedding couple that has the unfortunate experience of having their photos taken by this monster!!!

And crap.... who really needs a full frame 21 MP camera with as little noise as a 12 MP camera?!!! Useless I tell ya.

Someone has to stop the madness!!

I am curious. I am self taught so I am probably missing something. I have a 40d with 9 focus points. I thought ALL my images were in focus, but they must not be since I obviously need 50+ focus points.

Dang, all these images could have been so much better. Can someone suggest to me how to make up for this lack of technology?

Hey, it's simple! Pull out the focus screen, take a red felt tip pen and put spots wherever you want them! Doing this fools the camera (or at least the photographer) into thinking it has more AF points!

As a bonus, make all the points little crosses -- then you'll really impress people:):)!!

HOT DAMN!!! That is a great idea... I can't imagine why I didn't think of it.

Hey, do you think I can show agencies and customers these extra focus points and get more business? I mean... what is better than 58 focus points for getting an in focus photo?

Another question for those that might know... I want to use the new 5d to secretly video in HD my neighbor showering in her apartment. Surely Canon had the foresight to equip it with x-ray high definition video capabilities.
