G'Day mate, and welcome to the forum!

#3 and #6 are my favs - nicely captured moments in both. Well done!

#1 and #2 are a little flat for my liking (in terms of contrast), and the couple have a tree growing out of their heads in both! A common trap - particularly when shooting outdoors - but something to watch for next time.

#4 I really like, but in an awkward way. It's technically very good and I like the concept of what you were going for. It just....that sculptured iron that the ring is on is somewhat....er....phallic. Sorry! It might be my juvenille mind, but it's just so distracting!!!!

Thanks for sharing!

Nice work! 3 and 4 are my favorite by far, very creative ring shot. I also like the idea behind 6 except she looks very stiff and like she is trying to get away from him. Good job overall!

The background is way to distracting on the first couple, But pretty good job on the rest.

Very nicely done. My only gripe is the over'casty day. I'm pretty sure that wasn't your fault though ;)

1. Okay, except for trees growing out of heads.

2. More trees emerging from heads, and a busy background. She also looks kind of awkward and scrunched up next to him. Her white skirt is so blown out that it's making an excellent reflector and casting a glow around it.

3. Nice capture, but the trees still bug me. Also, Mystery Hand from Nowhere on her arm.

4. Excellent use of framing. I like it a lot. Unfortunately, someone above mentioned that the fence post was phallic, and now I can't think of it otherwise. Just hope that no one mentions it to the couple. :)

5. The angle of her hand is not flattering to the ring or her hand. His hand is a feminine position, and hers in a masculine one. I'd try to avoid shooting hands pointed at the camera (makes them look bigger), and try to avoid shooting the side of a diamond ring. (makes them look smaller. The jewelers make them face the way they do for a reason.)

6. Generally a strong composition. I don't like how the crack in the wall splits them, though. Also, there's a bit of a tonal merge between her shoe and the wall.

7. I just don't like the cannon between them. In this position, it interrupts them rather than harmonizing the composition. Also, you cut off the top of the building, and I think you missed some interesting lines up there.

8. Not bad. I like. Nice choice of location and composition.

I am not my gear. I hate the word "bokeh." Photography is an art: BE AN ARTIST!

Thank you all very much for the C & C's! A few of the things I picked up on after the shoot, but so much more caught by you all.

i really like the one with the crack removed... did you do something else to it also?

blurring out the background also a good alteration, but maybe a little too blurred for my liking.

thanks!

Nope just the crack, good that you like your own photos :P.

Yeah it's a little too blurred, but anything less and he would have had a tree growing out of his head still (blurring was the easiest way to de-clutter the background).

Good job, the cropping at the ankles bothers me. Also might want to shoot with less DOF to get the blurred background when the background is busy.
