So was CPS an option in the USA in the past? I came across this for your body/lens support and it says 1Q09:

http://www.usa.canon.com …ycode=CPS&fcategoryid=111 (external link)

I remember discussion about it when I was shooting a 20D. I've been shooting for about 30 years now and would gladly pay for the platinum level support!

Anyone else on CPS in the USA from the past and is anyone else excited about it coming up? IE free basic reg and discounts on service at a min?

moew!!!!!

All for only $500 a year! ;)

DONE!!!!!!!

But you do see the advantages if you are in a situation for paid work!

Ummm, CPS, I'm shooting the olympics and my primary body just died.... oh what, overnight loaner... ok, thanks.

yay!

Well maybe just in the usa, and that would be well worth it for when I shoot in most cases.

OR do the free reg, and get a discount on service if needed.... dunno if the free is a lifetime free though. So it's maybe like a free extended warranty if you can meet the criteria?

No doubt there are situations where the $500 means virtually nothing against the big picture (so to speak...)

IIRC, at the last Super Bowl in Glendale AZ, CPS could service gear right on site if need be...plus they probably had a treasure trove of spares.

Man you are lucky! I guess the req of having TWO bodies on the list will help them keep claims down, but you never know! I'll have to read more on this but I'm posting to see if anyone has past experience (is that only overseas?) with CPS.

Or was there a CPS here in the USA for a while, and then the stopped it?

I mean even the mid level could be an exceptional service year over year!

I seem to recall that CPS in the USA wasn't "advertised" so to speak...

If you knew of it, you probably qualified. If you hadn't heard of it, you probably didn't.

interesting, the efs 10-22 and the 17-55 are considered pro lenses in the requisite list. so all i need is a second XXd body and more than 50% of my income coming from photography. w00t

but the 70-200 4L non is is nowhere on there

Canon 7D, 50D/BG-E2N, 580EXII
EF-s 10-22mm, EF-s 17-55mm 2.8 [70-200mm IS 2.8L[COLOR=Red][COLOR=Black]][85L[COLOR=Red] [COLOR=Black]1.2] (coming soon 35L II? [COLOR=Red][COLOR=Black]50L II?)
