It's all cool right now! If you've never been, the Ft. Worth Stockyards is worth a visit. You're braver than me; I've had tickets to several games and gave them away. Not a fan of crowds these days. I'll be watching the game on TV though! Wear a Cowboys jersey so I recognize you.

If I'm ever able to get back to the DFW area and have time, I'll have to try to go there. I drove thru Dallas this past July on my way up north and I loved it, even though I only spent an evening and half of the next day there. What a great city-and it's SO green (ya'll actually have GRASS!) and has so much water. As much as I've hated living in Texas (which is really kind of unfair since I basically live in Mexico), I told my husband that I could handle living in the Dallas area or anywhere north of it. :)

Sundance Square recently opened their Plaza and is a neat place to go take photos.

I'm from Vegas, but I'm in Texas right now, Austin is my destination. Will be here till Thursday night. Right now, I'm in San Antonio area. Staying in Randolph afb.

Anyone here know good places to shoot? I've done the riverwalk and Alamo. Got some good shots. But interested mostly in Austin area. But if u know of a good place in San Antonio, I would shun the idea.

Get on 90, drive 2 1/2 hours west to Laughlin AFB, spend a couple of hours here, and then turn around and go back to San Antonio....you'll then see an absolutely ENDLESS possibility of things to shoot in SA...seriously. I have no doubt I could spend a solid hour photographing things on any block in SA (or ANY city for that matter) after 18 months here in Del Rio. ;-)a

Amber, thanks for the tip. Haha! I'm looking for "secret spots" from local photogs. I'm sure some SA photos should have spots where it's not known from visitors.

I did the Riverwalk and Alamo yesterday, and I think I'm gonna wander around aimlessly and just shoot today. Haha!

Honestly, IF you had the time (since it's about a 6 hr drive from where you are now), I'd blow off SA and Austin and hit Big Bend NP instead. It. Is. AWESOME and totally worth the drive. It's one of the best NP's out there and it's also the least visited. I've only been once but that was enough to get me to try to convince my husband that he should commute from Big Bend to Del Rio. However, he thought a 3 1/2 hr commute each way was SLIGHTLY too far.
