Hello, does anybody know how can I create the white line (which fade to the right side only) in the picture below?

I spend hours trying to create that line using the Pen tool in Photoshop and stroke it but fail

. How can I create the line and have the color only fade to one side? Please kindly show me the steps to recreate that line. Thank you very much.

Something like this might be a start:

Use a Vector mask instead of a path:

Note that the "Fill" on the black layer (with the stroke) is set to 0.
I think in your example, a copy of the BG image was used instead, with a blur added, and the fill set higher (to taste, depending on the blur).

The white layer under the red is just that: A white layer with a mask.

You'll probably need to convert the "stroke" to pixels to give it the "motion blur", and use a variation on the vector shape for the second "twirl".

Also, there probably are about 10 more ways of doing this ;)

I've just played with your question while an A3+ print was "baking". My solution is nowhere near as elegant as Rene's but it gets the job done.

I created a seperate layer to work on, then using the elipse tool, created a series of curves that copied your example. This I then "stroked" with white to a width of (in my example) 50 pixels and deleted any junk.

After that I just used a soft brush to erase one side of the stroked line and faded the whole layer so the background was visible through it.

As I said not elegant!

The beauty and the frustration of Photoshop is that every problem has twenty different ways of solving it.
