It's just fine the way it is. The things you do for yourself die with you, the things you do for others live forever.

I'd choose a place with much more traffic (i.e. a nice bridge or busy highway Well the assignment is a Building at night. I understand what you're saying though. It is a pretty static image, but it fits the assignment. And besides I love bookstores second to camera stores!

The lights on the top of the building really help to separate the building from the dark night sky Canon 20D / Speedlite 580EX / EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM / EF 85mm f/1.8 USM / EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS / EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III / EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro / Mafrotto 3021BPRO / Manfrotto 322RC2 / White Lightning Ultra 1800 / Manfrotto 3352QL Light Stand / Medium Softbox / Umbrella

I did use a tripod. The exposure was 3 long seconds. That's why it was so hard to get a people/car free shot. I used the tripod because I used a small aperture for more depth of field and low ISO to cut the noise in the underexposed areas. It might have been blurred even if I had used 1/50 sec.
