Yep just added to the family! Strongly looking forward to this, as it was completely unexpected but a few things came up that made this possible.

Now for 3 days of agony. My wife will become the new owner of my 400D, I figure that I will give her nifty as a learning tool.

I did give the 40D a long thought but in the end I figured I would go with whats new and hot. Both are a fairly large update over my 400D. I hope there is still snow on the ground when it arives!

Enjoy!

I upgraded from the Xti to the 50D as well. I'm very glad I did. Your going to be amazed by the improved LCD screen.

6D, 60D, Various L and non-L Lenses and more gear than I have time to use. ;)

I second the LCD screen, it's awesome! The photos are great as well, plus the micro AF adjustment works great on 3rd party lenses and it has peripheral illumination correction built in for Canon lenses to save time in post processing.

Just a guy with a few photography goodies that challenge me anew every day! ;)

Its a great body. The price difference from the 40D is worth it. New technology and the lcd is great. Might want to upgrade those hard drives though.

1 terabyte worth of memory got real small when I got the 50D. At least hard drives are cheap these days.

Mines coming next week. cant wait!!! The file size did have me searching for a new cf card. Just picked up an 8gb Lexar Pro 300X UDMA card at circuit city for $80. Thought it was a pretty good deal since Best Buy had the same card for $169 believe it or not.

Yes, you will enjoy it. I upgraded from the 20D.

Yes, the Lexar 8gb card was in today's Circuit City ad here in Grand Rapids.
