I don't have a camera yet, so I can't check this myself, and wasn't really sure how to word it to search for the answer. I was hoping someone here can check it real quick for me?

I guess I was wondering if I could shoot "burst mode" (or whatever it's called to shoot a few photos at a time automatically) and have the self timer on so after the timer goes off it will take a few photos?

I hope I made it clear enough.

Thank you!

Not meaning to be short but; No.
Timer is a one shot deal. If you want to shoot burst then you will need a remote shutter release

Just another shutterbug.

Yeah, what you would need is something like this which isn't cheap...

"The Canon TC-80N3 is a remote switch with an 80cm/2.6ft. cord and a self-timer, interval timer, long-exposure timer, and exposure-count setting feature. The timer can be set anywhere from 1 sec. to 99 hrs., 59 min., 59 sec."

You can do it if you tether the camera to a computer and use EOS Utility.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

It doesn't have to be expensive. I have one of those cheap Phottix wireless remotes from Ebay. With the 40D set on High Continuous, a short press on the remote will fire a burst of three shots and a long press will lock the button down so the camera keeps firing until a second press stops it.

Didn't know that... cool. Cheaper and still works is always a good answer.
